Administrative Assistant Pleasant Valley City Hall - 2340 Kingmont Rd 20 hours per week This is a highly responsible administrative, professional and technical position reporting directly to the Mayor and City Clerk whose office is the focal point of the city government and central point of contact with the general public.
Employee must use independent judgment in the application of practices and procedures, resolve problems and deviations without assistance, exercise considerable initiative, independent judgment, confidentiality; and, discretion in preparing correspondence, giving information, receiving complaints; and other duties as assigned.
Performs a wide variety of office support duties for the the Mayor, City Council, and City Clerk.
Performs routine and repetitive administrative support functions such as compiling, posting or recording information from a variety of sources that usually involves calculations, research and verification of information.
- Interacts with the public to obtain and provide information and assistance in a variety of circumstances.
- Screens and responds to general inquiries and complaints.
- Provides information on policies and procedures.
- Answer and direct telephone calls.
- Provide specific information to the public and city employees.
- Compose routine correspondence and prepare documents such as reports, memoranda, agendas, council updates, minutes, budget revisions, payroll records.
- Maintain office, personnel and computer data files.
- Performs administrative support work creating and maintaining spreadsheets, data entry/retrieval, and functions that may require interpretation, judgment and determining appropriate processes to be used.
- Assists in the preparation and distribution of the general fund budget.
- Prepares weekly communications for City Council.
- This position may occasionally require some work outside of normal business hours.
Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE NECESSARY FOR WORK PREPARATION:
- Any combination equivalent to experience and education that could provide the required knowledge and abilities; sufficient years of experience performing office support duties as listed above - A high school diploma, computer skills, and business practice experience are required.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
